インテルは2013年6月2日、第4世代Coreプロセッサー・ファミリーを発表した。
コード名Haswellで知られていた製品群で、前世代と同じ22nmのプロセス技術を使いアーキテクチャーを改良した最新のプロセッサー。
今回は最上位のクアッドコアプロセッサーが公開されたが、この最新世代のUltrabook向け製品などは後日発表すると思われる。
最大の特徴は電力管理面が強化され、バッテリー駆動時間が従来比で1.5倍、グラフィック能力が大幅に強化され2倍になった点だ。
