Lenovoは2010年1月6日、CES開幕の前日に記者会見を開き、スマートブックのSkylightや、通常のノートパソコンと、キーボードのないピュアタブレットPCとしても使えるIdeaPad U1 Hybrid、スマートフォンのLePhoneなどを発表した。
スマートブックのSkylightは薄型の筐体に、QualcommのSnapdragonをCPUとして対応。このインテルCPUを搭載しない、ノートパソコンとスマートフォンの間を埋めるカテゴリの製品は一般的にスマートブック(Smartbook)と呼ばれている。
ただし、このSkylightは価格が500ドル程度で、ネットブックなどに比べると割安感はない。
今後NVIDIAのTegraを採用したり、構成の異なるスマートブックは2万円から3万円程度になると予想される。
米国などでの発売は4月からで、2010年には各社から製品が登場するだろう。
IdeaPad U1 Hyblidは、液晶部分が分離されるネットブック的な製品。
ノートパソコンのように使う場合は、x86互換のCPU(今回のモデルではCeleron)でWindowsが動作するが、タブレットPC側にはCPUとしてSnapdragonが搭載され、液晶部分を取り外すとLinux系のOSが動作する。
液晶部分を再度本体に装着すると、スリープしていたWindowsが復帰する。
コンセプトとしてはおもしろい製品。
LaPhoneはスマートフォンで、かなりiPhoneを意識した製品のようだ。ここでは割愛する。
